List of Playgrounds in Cape Coral

By Samantha Zamfir - Macaroni KID Cape Coral July 29, 2024

Have you ever wondered where the best playgrounds are, in Cape Coral, to take your children to?

I have started to explore all the playgrounds in Cape Coral with my children and asked for their honest feedback to help me rank them from best to worst. In this guide I will include all Cape Coral parks, if I have explored them personally, if they provide a decent amount of shade, and more! I hope this helps!

Top 5 Favorites

Rotary Park

Sands Park

Gator Trails Park

Northwest Softball Complex

Joe Stonis Park

South Cape

Rotary Park

5505 Rose Garden Rd

Cape Coral, FL 33914

Rotary park is our favorite park out of them all! Not only is it shaded, but it's so much fun for children of all ages. It is not fenced in, but I do still feel pretty safe inside. It is also in the middle of a large walking path and next door to the Cape Coral Butterfly Garden. I can't say enough good things about this park and the fun you can have in the location itself. Rotary Park also has a dog park, but it isn't within eyeshot of the playground.

Sands Park

2718 SW 43rd Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33914

Another park on the top of our list! It's fully shaded where it matters most, relatively new equipment, good for all ages (though my son does enjoy it more) and has plenty to do around the playground as well. Fitness trails, gazebos, pickleball and basketball courts, and even some critters can be spotted in their natural habitat!

Four Freedoms Park

4818 Tarpon Court

Cape Coral, FL 33904

This is one of the oldest parks I personally remember going to. It has been refurbished multiple times and is still in the process of it now.

It is completely fenced in, plenty of seating for the parents including a small gazebo inside the park itself. It is partially shaded by trees, but not by an actual shade structure. It's near a small lake, so you get a slight breeze. This park is also more geared for the younger children.

Pelican Soccer/Baseball Complex

4128 Pelican Blvd

Cape Coral, FL 33914

Fun fact about my, I grew up on Pelican Blvd! Both of the parks recently got a makeover and they are so much nicer now.

Personally we enjoy the baseball complex playground more. Better shaded coverage than the soccer complex playground, but I have noticed the baseball playground gets busier because you can see it straight from the busy road of Pelican Blvd.

If you are a parent of a small child who needs the bathroom more frequently, then the soccer complex playground is better.

Camelot Park

1718 SW 52nd Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33914

The area is beautiful. Lots of trees, a walking path, good bathrooms, and a good playground.

The playground itself isn't super shaded, and not fenced in. It is however a good playground for all ages.

Veterans Park

4140 Coronado Pkwy

Cape Coral, FL 33904

Central Cape

Saratoga Lake Park

170 SE 4th Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33990

This is a frequently visited park for us.

It's decently shaded, overlooks Saratoga Lake, not super busy even though its in the middle of a neighborhood, fenced in, and even has a small walking path.

My four year old enjoys this park, but my daughter says there isn't much to do for her age. She would rather play basketball at the court right next door.

Paul Sanborn Park

2310 SE 3rd St

Cape Coral, FL 33990

Such a fun neighborhood playground. Playground itself is completely shaded, but not fenced in.

The bathrooms aren't to far away and there is a beautiful gazebo for fun picnics and family functions.

Jaycee Park

4215 SE 20th Pl

Cape Coral, FL 33904

LOVE THIS AREA!

The playground itself isn't covered, not fenced in, and could use a cleanup. BUT with the controversy happening with Jaycee Park, I don't think the city of Cape Coral will be cleaning it or doing any renovations.

The area itself is beautiful! It sits along the river, so has a great view. Many gazebos with picnic tables, a large walking path, trees, and even a free little library spot.

Cultural Park

528 Cultural Park Blvd

Cape Coral, FL 33990

Such a nice area! Partially covered, but the large main gym structure is not.

Both my children enjoy this park, but every time we have went, we have seen mainly older children.

It has been recently refurbished and is in a great location by the Cultural Park Theater, Rose Garden, Museum, and Art Center.

Jason Verdow Memorial Park

801 SE 27th St

Cape Coral, FL 33904

Both my children enjoy this park. It has a good mix of things for them both to do.

Very well shaded, and areas for parents to sit.

Cape Coral Sports Complex

1410 Sports Blvd

Cape Coral, FL 33991

This is a great park, but crazy busy!

We find ourselves coming to this park when there aren't any games going on in the sports complex.

Very well shaded, gazebos near by for picnics, plenty of space to run around, but the park itself is not fenced in!

Koza/Saladino Park

301 SW 30th Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33914

Storm Football Complex

2602 Chiquita Blvd

Cape Coral, FL 33914

Strausser BMX Sports Complex

1410 SW 6th Place

Cape Coral, FL 33991

Horton Park & Boat Ramp

2628 SE 26th Pl

Cape Coral, FL 33904

North Cape

Gator Trails Park

3612 Garden Blvd

Cape Coral, FL 33909

Top 5 favorite park! VERY shaded, fenced in, restrooms close, lots to do in the playground itself for all ages, newer equipment, walking trails, and so much more! We can spend hours here without anyone saying they are bored.

Northwest Softball Complex

1030 NW 16th Place

Cape Coral, FL 33991

Benches inside the park for parents to sit and watch their children.

Not completely shaded, but still does a decent job.

Small gazebo outside the entrance of the park with picnic tables.

My children love all the ropes from one jungle gym set to the other.

They have a cute scavenger hunt built into the gym sets that my four year old loved exploring!

Del Prado Linear Park

1222 NE 16th Pl

Cape Coral, FL 33909

This is a very new park and was much needed. It is completely covered under shade, fully fenced in, and right next to the restrooms. My son loves this park, BUT it gets very busy very quickly. It's a bit on the smaller scale, and that's probably why it gets busy fast, but still worth taking a trip to!

Giuffrida Park

1044 NE 4th St

Cape Coral, FL 33909

My twelve year old daughter loves this park! They have a couple really fun large sets to climb up and around.

The jungle gym itself is covered, but the swings and some of the larger sets are not.

Large gazebo with plenty of picnic tables around the playground.

Joe Stonis Park

3444 Ceitus Parkway

Cape Coral, FL 33991

Good park for all ages! They have some fun (not shaded) tall equipment for the older kids to play on but also so lower level fun for the smaller children. Decent shaded areas on the main sections of the playground. Bathrooms are a little bit of a walk, so be prepared for that. The surrounding area is beautiful. A small lake is in the middle with gazebos and walking paths surrounding. Bonus is that this park is very dog friendly with poop baskets all around the trail.

Jim Jeffers Park

2817 SW 3rd Lane

Cape Coral, FL 33991

This is another park that has been in Cape Coral for a very long time.

The playground is fenced in and pretty large! It's not completely shaded, but it does have its good sections of shade.

The bathrooms are pretty big and right next door to the playground. They also have lots of other fields for the older children to go play and many large gazebo's for fun family get togethers!

Burton Memorial Park

1502 NE 3rd Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33909

Slightly shaded

Directed towards the younger children
