𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐖𝐅𝐋 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 to provide free backpacks, school supplies, and groceries to Lee County School District students.
The event will be held at the Skatium in Fort Myers, between the hours of 10am and 2pm on Sunday, July 28th, 2024.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 / 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭. Much like a school drop-off or pick-up line, drivers will form a car line. As cars approach the Skatium, they will be asked to pop their trunk so that the backpacks and bags of food may be placed in their trunk.
One backpack per child (ages 5-12) will be given away, while supplies last. In addition, one bag of kid-friendly groceries will also be distributed to each car, while supplies last.
***𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤.
Organizers ask that everyone stay in their vehicle at all times as volunteers place items in your trunk and close the trunk before you drive away. This is in an effort to keep students, families and volunteers safe.
The Multicultural Centre of SWFL has collaborated with local organizations to provide food and supplies for families.
