Lee County Library Summer Reading Program

By Samantha Zamfir - Macaroni KID Publisher Cape Coral May 28, 2024

If your children are anything like mine, they would prefer to be on their tablets then reading a book.

Libraries are going to become a thing of the past, if we dont do something now. I personally love all of the programs and events our local libraries host. That is a big reason I am always adding them to my events calendar. The majority of the tme they are free, or a very small cost and they are for all ages! Its a great way to introduce infants and toddlers to a community of other like minded mommas, or a fun wau to introduce your tweens/teens to people who share a common interest.

Over the summer is hard for so many parents to ensure the children are continuing to further their education. Reading is so crucial to maintain a healthy brain. We are moving into a world full of technology, but sometimes picking up a good book can be more vital. But encouraging the children/students to pick up a book is hard. Thankfully the Lee County Libraries have come up with a fun solution.

The Summer Reading program is for all ages! Starting at Pre-School ages and up to adults, they have a program for everyone!

You can visit your local branch for more details, but here are some key points to get you started.

Choose either virtual or offline program for a summer of reading and adventure. Participants in either format are automatically entered to win book baskets for their age group! One entry, per person, systemwide. Multiple entries may result in disqualification from the prize drawings.

Of course there has to be prizes involved to entice the young minds to want to pick up a book!

All summer participants are eligible to win prizes for their age category: pre-K, children, teen and adult.
