Project HELP

By Samantha Zamfir - Macaroni KID Publisher Cape Coral February 2, 2024

I recently discovered Project HELP during one of my late night Instagram scrolling. A friend of mine created a basket and posted a photo of it explaining that it will be in the Project HELP's Elephant in the Room Gala as a Silent Auction prize. That friend also explained what Project HELP is/does and I instantly was captivated and knew I had to help.

Project HELP works with dignity and compassion to ease the pain of those affected by rape, violence, crime or loss of a loved one due to a crime. This spoke to me. I personally have been pressured into doing things that should've never happened. It still haunts me to this day. To many people out there have been a victim of rape or another violent act, and feel alone. They feel they cant express what happened or seek help in fear of being judged. Fear. That is a very traumatizing and strong word. That single word can make you feel so small, so alone, which can then lead you down a dark path.

Project HELP helps with the fear. Helps the people to understand that they are not alone and they can ask for help. Helps you to overcome whatever dreadful act has been done to you or a loved one. They are the voice in the silence, the light that shines through the darkness. They are Project HELP.

I will be a volunteer/believer at the Elephant in the Room Gala this Saturday, February 3rd. Tickets are no longer being sold for this event, but you can still be of assistance to Project Help by clicking here and learning more.
