As a publisher, I am in many of the local community Facebook groups so that I am able to see exactly what people are searching for and create guides to assist our community. One day, I myself, was in search of something special for my daughter's birthday party. Cookies. Not just regular cookies, but the shaped ones with all the beautiful designs on top. I stumbled across a post from Sweet Bee Cookies and Treats introducing themselves to the area. Of course, I had to reach out.
Kelly is the owner, baker, and designer of Sweet Bee Cookies and Treats. Kelly and her adorable family just moved down to Florida from Virginia and chose our wonderful city of Cape Coral to call home. Kelly was very quick to respond to my plea of help for some butterfly cookies for my daughters birthday party. Kelly even showed me examples of butterflies she has done in the past so I can get a better idea of what I need to request. Kelly asked me about the colors of the invitations and my daughters likes and dislikes and I could just tell she had a true passion for what she is doing.
Kelly always had a love for seeing all the pretty designs and possibilities when decorating sugar cookies. While pregnant with her daughter, she found herself spending a lot of time at home, so she decided to give sugar cookies a try! Kelly started by just making cookies for her family and friends. She would watch videos and research new techniques to try and of course her family had to be the taste testers. A task that I highly doubt was a hard one to deal with. Kelly would then watch videos and research other techniques to perfect and once she felt she was ready, she started her business.
The name Sweet Bee Cookies and Treats actually comes from an old childhood nickname of Kelly's. The bee ended up being a perfect, and absolutely adorable, fit!
While Kelly is super grateful for all of her loyal and loving customers in Virginia, she is excited to make new connections here in Cape Coral, Florida. Having this business allows Kelly to remain home with her two children and watch them hit all those milestones that come and go so quickly. That is something that every mom can understand.
I handed out the cookies as thank you gifts for attending my daughter's birthday and they were an absolute hit. Everyone was taking fun pictures with them and commenting on how beautiful they are! The true test for me is taste, because as a cookie, you have to not only look good, but taste good as well. Well everyone, they tasted as good as they looked!
