Hello!
This week we tried out something new, and decided to make our own chips!
We have received a vegetable box from SWFL Produce and had some leftover Sweet Potatoes. Normally I would do Sweet Potato fries or just baked and loaded, but we decided to do something a little different this time around.
They turned out delicious!
How to make Sweet Potato Chips:
- Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Wash/Scrub your Sweet Potatoes (no need to peel as we want the skin on).
- Slice thinly (if you don’t want them crispy, then slice a little thicker).
- Toss sliced Sweet Potatoes into a bowl and add Olive Oil to coat. Start with one tablespoon and mix until all slices are evenly coated. Add more Olive Oil if needed.
- Lightly Salt and mix again
- Place slices in a single layer on baking sheet.
- Season using Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder, and Garlic Powder.
- Bake for 45 minutes (flipping each slice every 15 minutes).
Its that easy!
Be sure to flip each and every slice, every 15 minutes to ensure they are evenly cooked on both sides.
We actually made two separate batches because I like my chips thin, crispy, and full of flavor. My husband and children like their chips not as crispy and only seasoned with salt. What I did for mine was slice a bit thinner and I left them in for an additional 15 minutes. They turned out perfectly!
