"Mommy, I want something fun to stand out during my graduation."
Thats all I needed to hear from my daughter in order for me to instantly called my friends Bill and Lynn, who own Diva's N Doll's Fairy Hair.
I first saw Bill and Lynn during a Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce after hours business card exchange. Lynn's purple hair had already grabbed my attention, however the fairy hair she had adorned it with really reeled me in. Bill had some fairy hair mixed into his appearance as well. In lieu of adding something to his otherwise normal hair, it was in his beard! At this point my attention was completely on them and I knew I had to walk over and say hello. We introduced ourselves, started talking and realized we all had the same values when it came to running a business. They are both very easy to talk to, which is a great trait to have when you are going to be sitting in front of them getting some colorful attachments to your hair. We had a wonderful evening talking and laughing about life and by the end of it exchanged business cards. We went out separate ways but made a great connection.
Fifth grade graduation is nothing to joke about anymore. All the children dress to impress and want to stand out in their own way. For my daughter, it was with the Diva's N Doll's Fairy Hair. The day before graduation, we went to Bill and Lynn's salon and I was stunned! I loved the signage they had on the outside of the building, but my daughter loved the inside of the shop the most. It had the brightest pink walls I have ever seen! By the windows were beautiful purple curtains with some fairy lights for an extra whimsical touch. On the opposite wall was the wide variety of feathers you could add to your hair and beautiful butterfly accents that looked as if they had just landed on the walls to rest. My daughter picked out some purple and blue colors for our hair and we each sat down as Bill and Lynn went to work. It didn't take long before they were asking how we liked our cool new hair. It was actually quicker than I had imagined, and of course, we loved our hair! My daughter had already picked out the feathers we plan on getting the next time we come to the shop.
Needless to say, her hair was a huge hit at her graduation!
It has been three weeks since my daughters graduation, and I have only lost one strand of the tinsel. Of course, everyones hair is different so I can't say for sure that others will last as long as mine has so far. My daughter has lost a few more than I have, but she is also much more active than I am. She swims in the ocean each day and spends a lot of time running around. I truly think that it isn't just the texture of everyones hair or the level of activity, but the fact that Bill and Lynn put time and care into each strand when attaching them to your hair.
Diva's N Doll's Fairy Hair is also open for parties, private events, and they can travel! The shop itself is such a magically decorated spot that children (and adults) want to spend a little extra time inside! I can imagine a little girl's tea party inside with minimal, if any, extra decorations!
